This famous currency exhibit is very entertaining and includes some of the following:
1) Notes designed and printed by Benjamin Franklin’s company (Hall & Sellers). There is also a note signed by John Read who is the father of Declaration of Independence signer George Read.
2) Notes Printed and issued during the American Revolution. This includes many local cities throughout the states.
3) Atlanta National Bank Notes and Atlanta and Lowry National Bank Notes. These famous Banks were purchased by Trust Company Bank under the leadership of Coca Cola Millionaire and Philanthropist Robert Woodruff.
4) Notes issued by the North and the South during the war between the states, including railroad notes from Western and Atlantic Railroad (currently CSX). This train was used during the Great Train Race.
5) Pictures containing the images of Slaves on American Currency.
6) Famous fractional currency issued during the Civil War due to the shortage of metals for coins by the Confederate States of America (C.S.A.) and the North (U.S.).
7) Script once believed to be owned by William Sherman and issued from his hometown of Lancaster, Ohio. This script was used for mostly surveying purposes.
8) Notes before and after the phrase “In God We Trust” was added.
9) Memorials commemorating Stone Mountain, Battlefields, World War II, Revolutionary War Heroes, Korean War, President George Washington, General Ulysses S. Grant and many more on American Currency.
10) Notes issued to soldiers in Pearl Harbor and North Africa during
World War II (stamped with Hawaii on the front and back).
11) Colonial Note signed by John Read (father of George Read, a signer of the Declaration of Independence).
12) Rare examples of Silver Certificate Notes and Gold Certificate
Notes with real Gold included.
13) Includes rare examples of Civil War stamps and tokens, Stone
Mountain Commemorative Stamps, etc.
